With all that is happening in the world right now, why would anyone want to learn how to tell a tall tale? Isn’t it frivolous? Nonsensical? Couldn’t such an endeavor be labeled fatuous? Yup. Absolutely. And that’s exactly why you should consider it.
Consider it a break for your overtaxed brain or nourishment for your depleted spirit. Who among us doesn’t feel the need for some respite? Come learn to spin a delightful yarn with real heroes and unbelievable feats of strength. Love puns? Got a whopper you’re just dying to try out on a group of likeminded confabulators? Saddle up your dragon and join us!
Beginning on Saturday, October 10, 10:00 to 11:30 am, CDT
Here’s an opportunity for you to spin a yarn, embroider upon the truth, and distort almost beyond recognition for an appreciative audience. Come tell us your whoppers and let us help you craft a rich, satisfying romp through unreality! Merriam-Webster defines Tall Tale as, “stories depicting the wild adventures of exaggerated folk heroes.” This workshop is three sessions (one each month beginning in October) of a mix of experienced and inexperienced storytellers creating fantastic, improbable tales for the fun of it. All are welcome!
